Help Spread the Word!

Our daughter Jordan (pictured above) was born with severe to profound hearing loss on June 23rd, 2007.

At that time we knew very little about hearing loss, and the news came as a devastating blow. With the help of an amazing support team including: Marcus Rose, Marcie McAmmond, Toni Stansell, Dr. Bridget Rickman, Shelly Ash, Dr. Courtney Oliszewski, Dr. Sybil Prewitt, Dr. Loren Bartels, and Judy Horvath, we were enlightened with information and skills that redeafined Jordan's future.

Jordan went on to receive bilateral Cochlear Implants and two years of auditory verbal therapy. Now, at age three, she has surpassed our most optimistic expectations for her development of receptive and expressive language. Jordan, just like so many children who have benefited from early detection, amplification, and intervention, is now being mainstreamed well before kindergarten.

It is clear to us, that if it was not for our team of professionals, family, and friends, organizations like AG Bell, and support groups like CI Circle, Listen-Up, and HEAR We Are, our ability to navigate through information, understand our options, and make educated decisions would have been slow and uncertain. We have also spent countless hours with family, friends, co-workers, and passers by, educating them about how the combination of early intervention, technology, and a lot of hard work, literally REDEAFINED our understanding of the possibilities for a child with severe to profound hearing loss.

Help us spread the word!
